Don't blame media

Regarding the Dec. 25 letter from John Zitkus of Mundelein about the media, the letter states we have seen more prosperity under President Trump "than any tyrannical, socialistic leftism that permeated the country the previous eight years." Mr. Zitkus states his displeasure with our past president and then blames the media for our current state.

Our current president has created a budget deficit of almost $1 trillion. He has fired the farmers with the tariffs, which are taxes that we Americans are paying. He has stolen money from the military and he has taken property from American ranchers and homeowners for the wall on the border. He has cut regulations for the EPA so that we have dirty air and water. His administration has recently gone after the Social Security Disability and Supplemental Insurance program. And not everyone has benefited from the tax cut, job expansion and so-called prosperity. If President Donald Trump has another image, he has not shown it to the rest of us.

And I do agree that the media is too opinionated, but it is the president's policies that many Americans do not like.
