We must all stand up to hatred and bigotry
We are members of a West Suburban Chicago chapter of Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom, a North American grassroots organization which brings Muslim and Jewish women together to know one another and stand up to hate and negative stereotyping.
We represent one of hundreds of chapters speaking out to deplore the recent attacks on Jews in New York City.
There has been one attack for each of the eight days of Hanukkah. We are particularly dismayed by the latest violent incidents where a mother and child were beaten in Brooklyn, and five people celebrating Chanukah in the home of a Chasidic rabbi in Monsey were stabbed by an intruder.
Acts of hate and violence against all minority communities are intolerable.
We all deserve to live safely and freely. This letter represents our efforts to stand up to hate.
We are asking that individuals respond to acts of hate by calling it out and alerting authorities. None of us can afford to stand idly by in the face of bigotry.
We can all make a difference.

An insult but a boost
To our local Congressional Representatives Casten and Underwood, I submit that you both get "zeroes." That is for the respect that you have shown our duly elected president and his outstanding accomplishments.
It will be our pleasure to send you packing next November. You are both immature, irresponsible, fraudulent and spiteful.
To your fellow Democrats, I say thank you for putting wind behind the back of Donald Trump.
Your outrageous impeachment decision will assure that we will again crash your party next November.
