Frisk deserves honor

After reading Mr. O'Donnell's column in Dec. 22 edition of the Daily Herald Sports Section, I would agree that an honor for Mr. Frisk is long overdue. Dr. Jack Martin years ago tried to make this happen, but it did not. The notion of waiting until someone has passed on is completely without merit and shows little regard to those people who demonstrate a love for this activity over a long period of time.

That being said, I would encourage the respective Boards of Education of District 214 and 211, principals, athletic directors and coaches to come up with a fitting honor for this man. Hopefully it will be something that will be in place forever and not a plaque at a memorial service. Thank you, Mr. O'Donnell, on bringing this to everyone's attention.
