A note of special holiday gratitude

This is not a letter debating any particular issue. It is a letter of gratitude to a group of people, their names still unknown to our family, who brought joy to us last Christmas. You see, our son passed away in October 2018 from a tragic accident as he worked on a project in his garage. Following his passing, many family members, friends, acquaintances and even strangers stepped up to support us in countless ways; I cannot begin to list them all. Anticipating that our first Christmas without him would be very difficult, some "Christmas angels" created the "12 days of Christmas" for us, leaving a gift on our front porch each day for the 12 days leading up to Christmas.

Each gift went along with the song we are all so familiar with. These "angels" were creative and worked very hard to make sure a fun, creative gift was sitting on our front porch each night. Our children who are out of the house and/or away at college waited each night for a picture of the daily gift. It brought great fun and joy to us amid the sadness we were all feeling.

This Christmas we are reminded of those Christmas Angels and their amazing act of kindness, and I wanted to express our gratitude to them and to all those who continue still to support us. God's Blessing to all.
