Letter: Let's celebrate Ken Griffin's generosity to museum

I am as far apart politically from Ken Griffin as I am in accumulated wealth, but I applaud his generosity in donating $125 Million dollars to the Museum of Science and Industry.

The museum's decision to add his name to their nameplate is somewhat controversial, but it is far more important that the museum will be able to modernize its' exhibits, be sustainable, and still enthrall generations of local, national and international visitors for many years to come.

The MSI, along with the Field Museum, the Adler Planetarium, the Shedd Aquarium, the Art Institute, and many other venues, have helped establish Chicago as one of those cultural destinations of the world. Let's not quibble about name changes, but be thankful that the MSI will continue to be a destination that visitors circle on their maps.
