Beyond the pale

For nearly three years, we have seen one example after another of egregious behavior by President Trump. He has skated through all of this. This latest - the episode involving Biden and Ukraine - takes his behavior beyond the pale. Impeachment proceedings need to begin now.

No more investigations. The evidence is clear to everyone. We no longer have the luxury of worrying about the impact on the coming election. We no longer need to be concerned with whether or not the Senate will convict. We need to be concerned that if nothing is done, if he skates on this, that our Constitution and the rules of law of this country - life as we have known it - will be over. I cannot underestimate the seriousness of this.

The press on the whole has done it's best to be impartial and to criticize when warranted, which is often, albeit pretty mildly. This is not a circus anymore. We are no longer entertained. This is so much more than the latest reality show. This is our country that is at stake here. Please take a strong and continuing stand in your editorial policy, in your editorials, to urge the Democratic Party to begin impeachment proceedings.

This is the time in our history when future generations, if there are any, will ask what you did. Do something.
