Give fireworks a rest after the Fourth

As I was sitting on our porch Sept. 1, I was able to listen to fireworks exploding for maybe one half-hour. I'll have to admit that it was only intermittent, but still …

The Fourth of July was nearly two months ago. So can we expect Thanksgiving fireworks and Christmas fireworks?

I can't imagine families with children who are trying to get their children to go to sleep. How about those with PTSD? How about pets that are scared to death of these? How about people who just don't appreciate this noise?

Want to detonate fireworks on the 4th. Great. How about giving it a rest once we get past the 4th?
