Will voters punish president?
Donald Trump boasted in a speech on the campaign trail that he could kill someone on 5th Avenue in New York City and get away with it. Well, it happened this weekend, but it just wasn't one, it was 31.
But who's to blame for the deaths? Not Trump's rhetoric. Not unlimited, legal assault weapons available to anyone that applies. Not the NRA or the Republican Party. It's the violence of video games, mentally deranged and the emotionally disturbed.
For decades we've talked about someone shouting "fire" in a theater, creating a stampede, trampling and killing people in the chaos, obviously with a severe penalty to the perpetrator. Trump has shouted "fire" since taking office with no punishment forthwith.
Until this weekend, several polling sources indicate he can win a second term. Will he, after El Paso and Dayton?
