Gas tax hike will have big consequences

I wonder if those politicians that voted for Pritzker's destructive gas tax increase ever considered the domino effect of their affirmative vote.

If you think the only effect of his gas tax increase will be a couple more dollars that you will pay every time you fill your tank, here are a few things to consider: School bus companies include the cost of gas in the charges they make to schools for their services. Since schools in Illinois are financed by property taxes their increased cost will be financed through property tax increases.

Consider the extra cost for taxi, Uber, limo and livery services. They are going to have to charge their customers more to cover the additional expense.

How about the increased cost to farmers, who use gas to operate their equipment? Up goes the price of the food they grow.

When you think about it, every business that depends upon automotive transportation in one form or another will suffer the increased gas cost. What does a business do to cover increased costs, they raise the price of their good or service or, in some cases move or go out of business.

Pritzker's gas price hike is going to do tremendous damage to our state's economy.

Let's hope that Illinois voters will remember the names of those politicians who voted in favor of Pritzker's massive gas tax increase including the "RINO" Republicans when they come up for re-election. Maybe we can turn their affirmative gas tax increase vote into a self-inflicted term limit.

Who do you think will suffer most from this tax increase? You guessed it, the low and middle class Illinois citizens, the people Pritzker promised to protect. Again, remember what happened when it comes time to vote again.
