Majority supports legal abortion
Abortion is legal and should remain so. According to polls, the majority of Americans support allowing abortion in all or most scenarios. The anti-choice minority is trying to impose its beliefs onto the majority to overturn Roe v. Wade. Minority rights are protected in this country, but there is no right to impose their morals on the majority. They are perfectly within their rights, however, to not get abortions.
But ...
Most pro-choice advocates don't like abortion. It takes a toll, emotionally and physically, on women who undergo the procedure.
Since both sides of the issue want to reduce the necessity of abortions, why don't we work together? Instead of railing against each other, why not find a better alternative?
Let's all advocate for responsible sex education, easily obtainable contraception methods, affordable day care, making sure that medical and financial help is available for any pregnant woman, and provide more focus on the physical and emotional needs of children in foster care.
Maybe one day abortions won't be needed.
