Floodwater angel's work is showing

Rain. Rain comin' down. In the 1970s, Marjorie Osborne was an ever-present champion of water resource management, in particular, retention and detention ponds. See how full they are? Her diligence in educating developers, elected officials and the public has unquestionably reduced floodwater damage during heavy rains.

Farmers understood the hydrology of their fields and were somewhat surprised when developers attempted to just buy and build. Land use matters.

I am grateful for Marjorie Osborne; for her civic engagement and attendance at all those meetings; for being a champion. Her commitment to Naperville is rightly honored in the presence of Lake Osborne at Naperville's Public Safety Campus on Aurora Avenue.

Thoughtful management of land brings value to the region and the neighborhoods. Indeed, every yard has an opportunity to contribute to the health of the environment and the protection of property. Think pollinators, deep roots and beauty too. Native plants are now on sale. They are perfect additions to your yard in the Prairie State of Illinois.
