Letter: Many, many questions for Republicans

Letter to the Daily Herald editor

I certainly have to give it to the Republicans in the government on one important subject: They sure know how not to answer questions. especially on subjects like:

• Where is this special health care program you have? Won't you show it, at least a part of it, or the start of it - to us?

• When will we be able to see your income tax returns? Are you still under audit? Really?

• What is the government's real policy on immigration? Is there one?

• How much money will it cost us to build "the wall," the one Mexico is going to pay for?

• Have you given up on reimbursing Puerto Rico, ever, again?

• Are there any people in your cabinet who remain after all the assurances about "how great they are;" how they are the greatest and the smartest and the hardest-working geniuses this country really needs?

• What is the government's program on gun control? Is there one? You know, about protecting the schools and the students and staff and employees in the schools?

• Are you still in favor of protecting and defending and supporting the NRA?

• Are you still in favor of more tax cuts for the superrich and the Big Pharma (and 'big' everything) especially the insurance companies and the enormous 'defense' industries?

• Are you still in favor of lowering interest rates again, so that people earning the current 2-percent rates are getting enough?

You could ask these questions to the Republican politicians who appear on every major or local talk shows, and try as you might, you'll not get an answer.

Try it. Then ask yourself: Where is the Republicans' allegiance? To the party? To the nation? To the president, and to heck with country?
