Letter: Flags for Roselle gives nearly $11,000 to community

Letter to the Daily Herald editor

Kudos to the Flags for Roselle program.

Nearly $11,000 was given back to the community as a result of the successful 2018 program.

Heartfelt thanks to the hundreds of Rosellians, individuals, families and businesses that contributed generously to have a 3- by 5-foot U.S. flag installed on their property in the early morning of each of five holidays, and have it removed at dusk the same day. The program is able to help five local nonprofits.

Net proceeds were disbursed equally among the following: American Legion Foundation, Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, Lake Park High School Educational Foundation and the Roselle Historical Foundation.

Installation holidays are Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day, Patriot Day and Veterans Day.

The first installation for 2019 is set for Memorial Day, Monday, May 27. For details about the program and to subscribe, visit flagsforroselle.weebly.com.
