Vote 'yes' to support the Palatine library

I would like to encourage everyone to vote for the Palatine Library referendum on April 2. The Palatine library is one of the best in the Northwest suburbs and provides excellent services. However, their building is in bad shape and needs roof and HVAC repair.

Also, their operating costs have been rising, even though they have been very frugal. They haven't asked for an increase in tax rate in 44 years! The amount they are asking for is small (about $52/year for the average homeowner) and will be used wisely by the library board. The revenues our library receives per person is one of the lowest of our surrounding communities and will remain so even with the increase.

The library provides great services for our community - young families, seniors, students, newcomers, entrepreneurs and civic groups all benefit. Our whole community and quality of life in Palatine is enhanced by having a good public library. We should all support it!

Please vote yes for the library referendum on April 2!
