Experience, credentials mark COD board candidate

On April 2, voters in the College of DuPage district have the opportunity to elect an innovative trustee candidate, Maureen Dunne. Maureen is running as an independent and believes that the COD trustee position should not be used as a steppingstone to further one's political agenda. She is endorsed by the COD Faculty Association Political Action Committee. Maureen has both deep board of directors experience, and strong credentials in education, science and technology.

Maureen Dunne was awarded "Outstanding COD female honor graduate" and was the first Rhodes Scholar from a junior college in the nation. She received her PhD. from Oxford University. She is the co-founder of the nonprofit initiative Code DuĀPage, a technological literacy program to encourage and strengthen the tech talent pipeline. Maureen believes in inclusive education for all and has established multiple scholarships for support of young adults, challenged with Autism,

Maureen believes in the future of College of DuPage and will work hard to ensure that educational programs prepare the students for 21st century jobs. She will be diligent in her search for external funding sources through public and private foundations instead of asking taxpayers to pay more. Dr. Bruce Merrifield, a Nobel Prize winner in chemistry, referred to Maureen as "ethical, innovative, and inspiring."
