What they aren't saying about the wall

Disclosure: I voted for Gary Johnson to be president.

Mr. Trump still has not given details as how this "barrier" can be built. I am not talking of concrete or steel. Not one explanation has been rendered to the following questions: how can the wall be constructed against the sovereignty of an Indian Tribe reservation; how can he compensate the U.S. border towns if their symbiotic economic relationships with adjacent Mexican border towns are severed; how will the permanent wall survive geologically unstable terrain over a 80 mile area; and, how does he plan to expedite eminent domain proceedings on the private property owners along the border?

Regarding the last question, some proceedings have been languishing in the courts since 2006. With all the rhetoric over a permanent barrier, very little is said about the government's right to build such a structure.

We can pass blame back and forth; but, does anyone see this cannot be done without years of negotiation. Almost half the "wall" track is property the federal government does not have distinct right of access on which to build. Therefore, Mr. Trump and Mr. McConnell shut down our government over a hypothetical assumption that a barrier can be built.

Mr. McConnell has sold his soul to get what he wanted, he should now step back and let the system work.
