Wall games only benefit political parties

Anybody else have border wall and shutdown fatigue? I'm just as tired of hearing straw man arguments (like "the left wants open borders so they get more voters.") We need to get past political games - they only benefit the two parties, not Americans in general. As far as I can tell, most Americans don't want open borders AND they don't want a wall, either. We want what we need, which is border security and a sensible way to resolve our current immigration problems.

According to a number of reports, the border patrol has asked for a combination of solutions (technology plus barriers). We also need to address people that overstay their visas and drugs being smuggled in through ports of entry. Just building a wall is a simplistic quick-fix attempt that only addresses part of the problem. It won't be very effective but it will be very expensive.

Instead of building a wall, I believe most voters would like Congress to be smart. Get a bipartisan group working on border security and immigration solutions that can work for everyone. That will mean some debate and some compromise. That might not be easy. But, that is kind of their job. Aren't we paying them to govern, not just campaign continuously?
