FOID cards are for honest people
In her letter on Nov. 26, Sushila Jackson said it is too easy go get a gun in this country. Her point was that someone bought a gun and only showed a FOID card and no background check.
The FOID card is a background check, and did you notice that when someone attacks a hospital, school or whatever, you never see in print if the shooter had a FOID card, but if a person defends his home and family with a gun against an intruder, the first item is if he had a FOID card?
Of course criminals don't have FOID cards. They can't pass the background check. Only honest Americans have them, and they must justify the use of force even when protecting their family.
