Troubling political choice

The Daily Herald's front page election article of Thursday, Nov. 1, highlights the disparity between the Democratic and Republican parties. They are polarized along gender and racial lines as well as by the issue of abortion.

The Democrats are fielding more women and minority candidates than ever. The Republican Party has in contrast more white male elected representatives who do not favor abortion and would not pass laws allowing it.

It bothers me that even by its self-proclaimed plank, the Democratic Party favors abortion and that now more women than ever will consider getting elected to public office via the Democratic Party as more valuable than passing laws that would support the life of a child in its mother's womb!
