Gillespie will be very effective advocate for us

As Ann Gillespie's friend for over 25 years, I can confidently say that she will be the most effective advocate in the state senate for our community. From sharing ideas in our book club to our conversations as walking partners, I have learned that Ann is a smart leader who listens and is sensitive to the needs of all residents of our area.

As a business executive, Ann has demonstrated that the way to grow the economy is to invest in people and infrastructure. This makes her a strong advocate for public education. Her interest in addressing business needs also leads her to advocate for more vocational education programs available in our schools. Her plan for reforming the state's tax system to put more money in schools provides a real plan for reducing property taxes. These are important concerns to me as a retired educator.

Ann's long career in health care makes her the ideal person to work on new solutions to reducing costs and increasing access to affordable health care in our state. Ann will also protect coverage for pre-existing conditions, women's health screenings and other women's health care issues.

Finally, Ann is a strong advocate for sensible gun legislation, including banning assault weapons, bump stocks and high capacity magazines, because her first concern is the safety of all citizens.

I am supporting Ann Gillespie for these reasons and hope to see her become the next state senator in District 27.
