Renewing our confidence
I just finished reading the column by Diana Leane titled "It was worth it" and, wow, what an enlightening read.
I had the pleasure of coaching Eric Montgomery a number of years while he played Lisle baseball. I remember him as a tough, competitive player with a big heart. I also had the pleasure to get to know Sara Couch as I coached her brother during the same time frame and she exerted an energy and excitement that could only lead to a successful, giving life.
They are two wonderful young people who give me the confidence and knowledge that our future is in good hands in aiding those in need and eventually defeating cancer.
In a world of negative news coming out at an alarming rate this column put a big smile on my face.
