A ploy to get tax money
What a ridiculous headline. "Just 1 in 4 kindergartners ready for school"in the Sept. 4 Daily Herald. This is just a solution looking for a problem. The only requirement for first graders is that they be at least 6 years old. No entrance test, no ACT for kindergartners, no application for admittance, no nothing - just be 6 years old. Where I grew up, there was no kindergarten and we turned out just fine. I did not read this first page article and will not read it. This is just another crazy ploy to get more tax payers money.
