Candidate cares about safety of kids

Keeping children safe, whether at home, at school or in our neighborhoods, must be our top priority. As a parent and a public school teacher who cares about the safety of our kids, I believe that Terra Costa Howard is the leader we need to stand up to the powerful gun lobby to do what's right for our families.

Terra Costa Howard made this clear to me at last week's gun sense forum sponsored by IL 06 Students Say Enough.

I want someone in Springfield who has the guts to tackle gun violence with true leadership - someone who won't stand by on the sidelines and let others do the work. Terra will dive in head first to pass common sense laws that protect our children and work to give law enforcement the tools they need to enforce the laws that keep our kids safe.

Terra will hold herself accountable to her constituents (Illinois District 48), not to special interests groups. She will be a smart, independent leader who will listen to her constituents with trust, common sense and honesty. Most importantly, Terra will be consistent in her votes on important gun safety legislation, not when it is politically convenient.

Terra Costa Howard has been named a Gun Sense candidate by Moms Demand Action because she will work with both parties to make sure our families are safe. Please join me and vote for Terra Costa Howard on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
