Messages are like comedy routine

In spite of all the soul-searching, heart-rending, political denigration and unending lies, one thing that gets to me is the amazing resemblance of the (mostly) Republican opinions and standpoints to Abbot and Costello's famous "Who's On First" comedy routine.

For example, one day America has the greatest intelligence agencies in the world, the next day. "Maybe they are but Vladimir Putin says they're not, and who am I to argue against a world-famous leader like Vladimir Putin?"

Or, "We're going to build a wall to keep the immigrant rapists and murderers out of America, and Mexico is going to pay for it." But, today, "We are going to need 'about' $25 billion to build the wall."

Every time this guy opens his mouth, he puts his foot in it. And he is the perfect example of "who's on first?" While the world gets the point and appreciates the similarity of "I Don't Know Who's on third" to the "don't believe what you see and what you read; just do what I tell you to do" and everything will assure our continued success in making America great again.

While we laugh and joke about "Who's On First" we are scared to death of the so-called president's administration. Worst fear? When the bills come due for the extravagance of this party's spending and there's no money in the treasury to pay them because of the "tax cuts" so generously planned for the rich and the superrich, where do you think the GOP will go to get that money? Only one or two spots, you may be sure: Social Security and Medicare. Once they skunk the money for those two programs. Americans will become truly desperate, desperate for income and for health care. And that is exactly where the GOP wants them.
