Setting things right

In 1872, Carl Schurz said, "My Country, right or wrong; if right, to be kept right; and if wrong, to be set right." It is wrong for the president to start a trade war with our staunchest allies. It is wrong for the president to cozy up to dictators like Kim Jong-Un and Vladimir Putin. It is wrong for the president to initiate a policy that takes babies from the arms of their mothers who are seeking asylum.

Your country, right or wrong. If wrong, you must call your congresspeople and tell them to resist. If wrong, you must write the editor to voice your opposition. If wrong, you must vote in November for a check on the president. If wrong, you must do your part to set your country right.
