Demand Congress ban assault weapons

Santa Fe, Texas, has now joined ranks with Parkland, Florida, and with Connecticut and Colorado with mass murders in our schools.

Trust me, the NRA is already spooling up their right-wing spin machine to put the fear of God into gun owners about the federal government reinterpreting their "Holy Grail," the Second Amendment, to take away your assault and semi-automatic weapons. Look for more money lining the pockets of our weak/spineless politicians to turn their collective backs on students and families so they can dine at the trough of greed.

Schools are not for guns, they are for educating our young people so they can become contributors to our great country. It doesn't matter what community in which you live, as long as there are no sanctions on assault and automatic weapons, our young people will have two choices when attending school: 1) graduate, and move forward to obtain a trade or college degree, or 2) become another death statistic. That's the harsh reality.

If you care about our young people, contact your congressmen. If they refuses to vote for a ban on assault and semi-automatic weapons, vote them out, because they don't care about our young people and worse yet, you.
