Does Mount Prospect need another park?

Regarding Steve Zalusky's article on the demolition of two former Busse family homes across from Village Hall to build yet another park - it seems unnecessary.

I say this in lieu of the fact that there are ample parks some within walking distance of each other as well as the surrounding villages of Arlington Heights, Prospect Heights and Des Plaines. Here is the list I came up with which may not even be complete: Busse, Owen, Brentwood, Clearwater, Gregory, Lions, Sunset, Meadows, Melas, Mount Prospect, Kopp, Jackson, Friendship Fairview and Moehling, which equals 15.

This seems to be another tax burden on the residents of Mount Prospect. Again I ask is it really necessary to put a park within three blocks of another park?
