We can be proud

Kudos to the Barrington High School students who participated in the school walkouts. Thanks to the encouragement and support of the administration and teachers, students were given the opportunity to not only learn what civil disobedience and peaceful protest mean, but they were also provided an outlet to express their frustrations and fears about the proliferation of school shootings. The students planned the entire event, secured a location and speakers, and held a peaceful, successful march that was attended by about 500 students, parents, and others. We should all be very proud of our students who are clamoring to make a difference.
