NRA is wrong target, but still ...

I am not a member of the NRA. I do not own a gun. No one in my family owns a gun. No one in my family is a member of the NRA. None of the mass shooters have been members of the NRA. There were 2,785 shootings in Chicago in 2017. I'm pretty sure none of the shooters were members of the NRA. (I am also guessing most of the guns used were not legally purchased - nor did purchasers pass background checks.)

Angry young men have been responsible for almost all the mass shootings - mental health issue and a societal one as well. Street gangs have been responsible for most of the shootings in Chicago - a societal issue and also probably a mental health issue. The NRA is an easy target, but I think we are looking at the wrong culprit. Saying all that, I don't see why automatic high powered rifles are available to someone who is not old enough to buy cigarettes.
