McGuire: A wonderful holiday was had in Hanover Township
On behalf of all Hanover Township Officials, staff and volunteers, I would thank the community for their outpouring of support and kindness once again this past holiday season.
We are especially grateful to St. John the Evangelist of Streamwood, the Bartlett Lions Club, the Bartlett Rotary Club, Knights of Columbus Mary's Millennium Council #12801, Jewel Food of Streamwood, Bartlett VFW Post 11018, Streamwood VFW Post 5151, the Kiwanis Club of Streamwood, and the Streamwood Woman's Club for their generous donations and assistance in distributing holiday meal boxes to low income residents.
Together we were able to distribute 530 holiday meal boxes to families in need.
This year's toy drive and Sponsor-a-Family programs were also tremendously successful with 1,726 children receiving new toys and 661 families being sponsored. Hanover Township would like to thank all of the businesses, community partners and local municipal offices who allowed their office spaces to be utilized as drop off locations for holiday donations from around the community.
Each year Hanover Township is overwhelmed by the tremendous support of our residents, neighbors, and friends. We truly appreciate your willingness to help those who need it most.
Thank you again to everyone who sponsored a family, dropped off toys for children, donated to the Township Food Pantry and assisted in distributing holiday meal boxes during this joyful time. We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and our best wishes for a prosperous new year.
