Remember which party profits from guns

As everyone who reads the Daily Herald knows, there was a protest Oct. 13 while the Lake County Republicans were holding their second annual gun raffle, which included a semi-automatic weapon like the one used in the Las Vegas massacre. What may have gotten lost in the reporting - and what every voter should know - is that the Republican Party is financing campaigns with money raised at gun give-aways. In 2016, the NRA and its PACs contributed nearly $6 million to political campaigns, 99.9 percent of which went to Republican candidates. I hope that everyone who was sickened by the Las Vegas slaughter will remember which party's candidates have no trouble profiting from the proliferation of guns that serve no purpose but to kill as many innocent people in as short amount of time possible.
