Heartbeat and life
A clarification for the letter "Religious or not, keep minds open on abortion": According to the Bible in Ezekiel 37, this was not an actual happening but a vision given by God to Ezekiel the prophet around 587 B.C. Ezekiel envisioned a valley of dry bones and God asked him "Can these bones live"? Ezekiel answered that they could live. This vision was symbolic of the nation of Israel that it would be restored and God said it would live just as breath was given to the dry bones, in the vision of the valley of dry bones that was restored to life.
A question about abortion: If absence of a heartbeat means a person is dead, in my view, conversely at three weeks a fetus has a heartbeat, meaning there is life. Abortion is terminating a life.
