The danger of speed

Regarding the recent story, "faster, deadlier driving." This was a good article. Two comments: 1) Did you notice that all of the car ads on TV show their new car driving fast and passing all of the other cars? They are obviously appealing to a man's competitive spirit. 2) It is against the law in Illinois to weave in and out of traffic to go faster than the average flow of traffic. Each time you change lanes, there is a chance that you will miss seeing someone in your blind spot. Have you noticed that people who do this are in newer, sportier, or more expensive cars? The safest thing is to go with the flow and drive the same speed as everyone else in your lane.
