Can't let down our guard on health care
Although the last horrible and draconian Republican health care bill died in the Senate because of the lack of sufficient votes, vigilance is still needed.
The fight to save the Affordable Care Act, which is the law of the land, is not over. The Republicans will be back to further their mission to destroy our health care system.
The Trump administration is sabotaging the ACA by reducing the window for open enrollment putting out anti ACA propaganda, cutting assistance to local organizations who assist people enrolling for health care and slashing the outreach and advertising budget. In addition, the Trump administration also plans to shut down the website people use to enroll in the ACA for part of the time during the weekends for so called "maintenance." Trump himself continually threatens to cut off the CSR's, which offset insurers' costs for providing insurance to poorer Americans causing higher premiums and reducing insurance choices as insurers leave the market.
This sabotaging is done in the hopes of worsening our health care system instead of focusing on helping people and working in a bipartisan effort. The Republicans further confirm their lack of empathy for their fellow Americans and continue to put party over people. We must hold the Trump administration accountable.
