A message on science

I want to commend the 469 local residents who took part in the March for Science in Palatine on Saturday. Adults and kids alike exercised their right to peaceably assemble and they sent a message to politicians and policymakers: we expect you to use science and evidence-based research to make decisions about health care, the environment, infrastructure, immigration, and economics. Will politicians wisely work in harmony with their constituents, or will they foolishly set themselves up for a Newtonian reaction in 2018? Stay engaged, residents of the Northwest suburbs. It's necessary, and, as Saturday showed, it's fun.
