Hounds Town Aurora celebrates grand opening

AURORA - Hounds Town Aurora, a pet day-care and boarding facility, has opened in a former McDonald's restaurant at 2011 W. Galena Blvd., Aurora.

The pet day-care center is the first Hounds Town USA franchise in Illinois and among 20 nationwide. Its services include full-service dog grooming, day care, overnight boarding, retail products and a pet taxi service.

Co-owners Mike Gould and Jim Pauley hosted a grand opening ceremony Saturday, Jan. 15, at the business, which is located across the street from Pauley's former dental practice.

Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin and Fifth Ward Alderman Carl Franco were among local officials who attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

According to Irvin, the event was Aurora's first ribbon-cutting of 2022 after 70 in 2021.
