Holiday shopping night helps women with ovarian cancer

An upcoming fundraiser in Bartlett will allow you to get a head start on holiday shopping while supporting a worthwhile cause.

Ride for Hope, a 501(c) 3 motorcycle ride and celebration conceived and organized by JuliAnne Scully, owner/operator of JuliAnne's Salon & Spa in Schaumburg, will partner with Kim Panzarella, owner of Magnolia's Weddings and Events in Bartlett, for a holiday shopping night fundraiser on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 30.

The Holiday Shopping Night takes place from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, at Magnolia's Weddings and Events, 389 Bartlett Plaza, Bartlett. For information, call (630) 855-4413.

Money raised will benefit local women battling ovarian cancer who are facing financial hardships.

“Our mission is to spread awareness of the symptoms of this silent disease, and offer financial support that women and families need while on this devastating journey,” Scully stated in a news release.

“November 30 is #GivingTuesday, and we are so excited to join Ride for Hope in the global movement of generosity to help improve the lives of women in our community suffering from ovarian cancer,” Panzarella said in a news release.

There is no charge to attend the event, which will feature a variety of small vendors including: Rebecca's Cakes by Design, Never Ending Cycles/Leave Me a Gnome, Wine & Dogs, Sophia Joy Candles, Lots of Knots Bakery/Danella Tereza Color Streak Nails, The Closet in Bartlett, Grace & Heart Jewelry, Smoke Showin' Cigars, WinePull.com, Tastefully Simple, and JuliAnne's Spa and Salon.

“This is a chance to come out and support small businesses and be a part of the Ride for Hope family,” Scully said.

Raffle tickets for a $750 gift card tree are one for $20 or three for $50. Raffle tickets ($25) to win a trip to Barbados will be available for purchase. The winner of the gift card tree will be announced on Dec. 18. The trip winner will be pulled at the event.

Everyone will be entered in a door prize drawing for a $50 Pinstripes gift card, and a cash bar will feature $5 teal-tinis and sangria. Butler service appetizers will be served.

The seventh annual Ride for Hope will be on June 26, 2022, leaving from Woodstock Harley-Davidson on a 65-mile ride, with an after party at Nikkos Red Mill Tavern in Woodstock.

A nomination form for ovarian cancer patients who need financial assistance is on the Ride for Hope website at www.rideforhopeil.org.
