Karina Parada joins Meet Chicago Northwest

SCHAUMBURG - Meet Chicago Northwest, the official destination marketing organization for Chicago's Northwest suburbs, has selected Karina Parada as its new creative content manager.

Parada will manage the social media marketing, calendar of events and creative content writing for Meet Chicago Northwest.

Parada began her career with WTVO 17/FOX 39 Eyewitness News in Rockford in November of 2016. She started out as a news and sports photographer and quickly rose up the ranks to a multimedia and on-camera reporter.

Born in the Northwest suburb of Arlington Heights and raised in Streamwood, she attended Streamwood High School where she was part of its weekly news program. Her passion for storytelling led her to Northern Illinois University, where she went on to get a degree in journalism and a minor in Spanish and speaks the language fluently.

"We are very excited to have Karina on our team. Her charisma is contagious. She will be instrumental in helping us celebrate the people and hospitality businesses of our Northwest suburbs," said Heather Larson, president of Meet Chicago Northwest.

During her free time, Parada enjoys exploring new places, cheering on the Chicago Cubs and Bears, as well as spending time with her dog, Tucker.

Meet Chicago Northwest is the official destination marketing organization for eight communities, including 63 hotels with 10,000 guest rooms, more than 25 major attractions and more than 400 restaurants. The organization's mission is to make a positive economic impact by marketing and selling the region to groups and individual travelers.
