City of Aurora seeks business participation with launch of disparity study

The City of Aurora has commissioned Griffin & Strong P.C., a nationally recognized law and public policy consulting firm, to conduct a comprehensive disparity study.

The study will evaluate and provide recommendations for improving procurement policies and practices concerning minority and women-owned businesses.

“Business participation in this study is critical to the accuracy of the findings and recommendations,” said Aurora Mayor Richard C. Irvin. “We have collaborated with our chambers of commerce and business groups to prepare for a successful launch. The work we do now will result in policy improvements for the City of Aurora. The more diverse voices we have from the Aurora business community will ensure the final action plan will be an equitable and inclusive representation of all involved.”

To provide an opportunity for Aurora businesses to learn more about the 2021 Disparity Study, Griffin & Strong, P.C. will host a virtual informational meeting at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7.

Business owners and representatives can register to attend the virtual meeting at www.tinyurl.com/AuroraDisparityStudy.
