Wheeling cuts fees for business, liquor licenses due to pandemic

The Wheeling village board this week voted to reduce the cost of business licenses and liquor licenses for the next fiscal year because of the COVID-19 crisis.

The 50% reduction reflects a desire to help financially struggling businesses affected by state-ordered service reductions and other mandates, officials said during Monday's village board meeting.

The next fiscal year starts May 1. Those same fees were waived entirely during the current fiscal year, official said.
