Mercedes-Benz dealership proposed in Romeoville
ROMEOVILLE - Mercedes-Benz have presented a concept plan to Romeoville village officials for a 40,000-square-foot dealership on 23 acres on the east side of Weber Road, between Airport Road and Gaskin Drive.
If the process continues as scheduled, construction could begin this summer with a projected opening in summer 2022, the village said.
The two-story building includes a showroom, sales area, service areas, lounge and office space. The building will consist of primarily glass for a highly visible, expansive showroom and a unique roof design. The dealership will also sell Sprinter vehicles.
"In addition to luxury cars, the dealership will sell commercial vans, which we feel will be of great interest to businesses throughout the region," Mayor John Noak said.
Mercedes-Benz of Romeoville will join several other projects that are already underway or approved. These projects include the redevelopment partnership of the former Target site with Senior Services of Will County, which will include space for Silver Cross Hospital and others. Under construction adjacent to the site is The Seasons at Romeoville, offering new suburban luxury rental living. In addition, Wing Stop, Arby's, Popeyes and a new U-Haul complex are all set to begin construction this year.
