DHJJ announces promotion of three new principals

NAPERVILLE - DHJJ Certified Public Accountants and Business Advisors recently promoted Elizabeth Herbst, Nick Brooks and Russ Brewer from senior managers to principals.

"DHJJ is happy to promote Elizabeth, Nick and Russ to principal as they each bring unique technical experience to the firm," managing director Patrick Kolzow said. "We are fortunate that our principal team continues to grow."

Elizabeth (Liz) Herbst joined the firm in 2014 and brings more than a decade of specialization assisting professional services firms, construction and real estate industries with high-level tax planning and compliance, multistate returns, and exit planning considerations. Herbst is a graduate of Dominican University. She holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and business management and an MBA. She is a member of the Illinois CPA Society Committee for Flow-Through Taxation and serves on a task force for the annual conference.

Nick Brooks joined the firm in 2015 and serves various industries offering tax planning strategies, controllership services, and business advisory services, including budgeting and cash flow planning, accounting systems support, payroll and human resources, and succession planning. Brooks has dual bachelor degrees in business accountancy and information management from Western Illinois University. He also serves as the treasurer for the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce.

Russ Brewer joined the firm in 2017 and brought more than 13 years of experience to its Assurance department, assisting clients primarily in the manufacturing and distribution sector. He offers assurance services such as audits, reviews, compilations and business consulting to his clients. He also helps companies with 401(k) plan audits. Brewer earned his bachelor's degree in accountancy from Northern Illinois University. He is the treasurer for Hearts for Hope, a nonprofit organization that raises money primarily for the pediatric cardiology unit of Advocate Hospital.
