Herrington's Ornaments of Hope raises money for food bank

GENEVA - The Herrington Inn & Spa has begun its monthlong Ornaments of Hope campaign to raise money for the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

Participants may purchase an ornament for $10 and decorate it with their messages of "hope," then hang the ornaments on the inn's HOPE Tree.

The fundraiser continues through Dec. 26 at the inn, 15 S. River Lane in Geneva.

"We invite our hotel guests and members of the community to come by the hotel during this holiday season and purchase a $10 ornament and declare your message of hope," said Jessie Perez, the hotel's front office manager, who expanded on an idea he had seen about writing declarations of hope on a special tag and hanging this on a tree.

Many people believe that manifesting works to create your best, most positive life. The more positive energy going out to the world might help in healing it, Perez said.
