Batavia businesses eligible for COVID grants

Batavia small businesses and nonprofit organizations are eligible for a round of grant funding to offset the costs of following safety guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Batavia Reconnected grant program was originally announced in June, and this is its third round of funding. Grants of up to $1,000 are offered for safety precautions that include sanitizer, touchless door and foot handles, personal protective equipment, signage, and table and chair rental or purchases.

The businesses must employ fewer than 10 people and accommodate the public in-person. No applications will be accepted after 5 p.m. Sept. 17 and no businesses that previously received a COVID-19 grant from Batavia Reconnected are eligible.

Anyone with questions about the grants can call: Batavia Chamber of Commerce President Margaret Perreault, (630) 879-7134; Batavia MainStreet Executive Director Sherri Wilcox Dauskurdus, (630) 761-3528; or Batavia City Administrator Laura Newman, (630) 454-2000.
