Batavia chamber chief to take new job at Dist. 101
Batavia Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Holly Deitchman is resigning to take a new job at Batavia School District 101, the chamber announced Wednesday.
Deitchman will leave on June 24 to become communications director for the Batavia school district.
During her five years as head of the Batavia chamber, membership increased from 280 members to 480 members, according to a release from the chamber. The group is currently promoting a "Drive for 500" to reach the 500-member mark. She also worked to cement chamber collaboration with Batavia taxing bodies, Batavia MainStreet, and area nonprofits.
"We are happy for her personally as she received an incredible opportunity to continue to support Batavia, albeit in a different capacity," said Jessica McGrail, chairwoman of the chamber board of directors and owner of Dollar & Sense Bookkeeping.
During her term, Deitchman also revamped the chamber website and increased promotion of members to the public. She also refined the Chamber Ambassadors program to add an element of giving back at its monthly Net-Working It events, which this year has already collected $3,800 to distribute to different charitable organizations.
Her work helped earn the chamber the 2019 Annual Awards for Business Excellence in the Business Organization/Economic Development category from the Daily Herald Business Ledger.
The chamber will search for a new director will begin soon. A complete job description will be posted on the Batavia Chamber's job page by May 24 and will be shared on the organization's Facebook page. Applications for the position will be accepted through 5 p.m. June 6.
