WPH Chamber names new director
WHEELING - The Wheeling Prospect Heights Chamber of Commerce & Industry announced Michael Looby will become executive director for the organization on April 1.
Looby will replace Neena Pottoore, will is relocating to Michigan.
Looby's background includes a mix of business ownership, 28 years of chamber involvement and not-for-profit experience. He previously was owner of the Wheeling PostNet store for five years and a is current WPH board member. He has been a past president of the WPH in 2017 and the Niles Chamber of Commerce in 1997. His PostNet business was named the WPH Business of the Year in January of this year.
He grew up in Lake County and lived for 22 years in Niles where owned a printing broker firm and was an active member of the Niles Chamber of Commerce and Industry. His not-for-profit experience comes from his ten years as a fundraising executive for Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein. He holds a degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Looby is looking to grow the chamber membership and add programming that Wheeling area business can find relevant and productive in their businesses.
