Credit union donates to YouthBuild of Lake County

In support of Great Lakes Credit Union's initiative to back its communities, GLCU Board Member, Jim March, and North Chicago Branch Manager, Leilani Goldsmith contributed $3,000 to YouthBuild of Lake County.

GLCU is proud to support the communities in which its members live. For the third year in a row, GLCU's board of directors adopted an extraordinary plan to give back to its neighbors; branch managers of each GLCU location work closely with Board Members to support local charities.

YouthBuild programs across the U.S. are individual nonprofit organizations that provide opportunities for secondary education completion, career pathways training, and transitional services to college, job placement, and follow up support.

"YouthBuild Lake County is excited to accept this grant to support our education and career training programs. The young adults we serve come to YouthBuild eager to learn and build better lives for themselves. Support from community partners such as the Great Lakes Credit Union is vital to our organization as we help these youth achieve their goals," said Executive Director Tameka Wilson.

Founded in 1938, GLCU serves more than 83,000 members and has more than $841 million in assets. GLCU's corporate headquarters are in Bannockburn with 11 branches throughout Chicagoland.
