Thanopoulos named Wheeling business development coordinator
Marianthi Thanopoulos, most recently Mount Prospect's public information officer and community engagement liaison, has been hired by Wheeling as its new business development coordinator.
In her new role, Thanopoulos will be tasked with promoting and encouraging development and redevelopment opportunities, conducting marketing and strategic communications, and supporting the economic development goals of the village, officials said.
She'll also interact with the business community directly and through organizations like the chamber of commerce and its industrial manufacturing committee, and Restaurant Row Hospitality Group. She will report to Economic Development Director John C. Melaniphy III.
Thanopoulos is also an elected member of the Arlington Heights Memorial Library board of trustees and founder of a not-for-profit, Tharos Productions.
Thanopoulos will be paid an annual salary of $74,428.
