Westfield Old Orchard kicks off the season with Celebrate Summer happenings

SKOKIE — Westfield Old Orchard said it is celebrating the launch of summer with a variety of outdoor activities, events, and elevated art visuals throughout the season.

Outdoor offerings from the shopping center include free oversized games like corn hole, chess and Connect 4 for the whole family to enjoy and participate outside of the Bloomingdales store in Cube Park.

The center is also upholding its commitment to working with independent and local artisans to elevate and beautify its outdoor space. The latest installation was recently completed by artist Patrick Owens outside of Nandos to complement its patio area. The shopping center plans to increase the amount of artwork throughout the center and offer art walk-throughs to learn more about the featured artists and their work.

In partnership with PAWS Chicago, Westfield Old Orchard will host a pet adoption event from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 23 in Cube Park. PAWS will bring dogs on-site so attendees can meet the pups while PAWS volunteers guide guests through the adoption process to help the dogs find their forever homes.

“Westfield Old Orchard is the perfect lifestyle destination to take the family during the warmer months and stay all day, whether you're shopping, enjoying a nice meal or admiring art,” said Westfield Old Orchard general manager Serge Khalimsky.
