Elgin Recycling expanding into new West Dundee facility

WEST DUNDEE - Elgin Recycling has leased a new industrial building to house its electronics division at 1101 Wesemann Drive in West Dundee, according to a commercial real estate company involved in the deal.

The 63,800-square-foot facility is less than two miles from Elgin Recycling's headquarters at 46 East End Drive in Gilberts, said Dan Brown, president of Brown Commercial Group in Elk Grove Village, who has been a strategic real estate adviser for Elgin Recycling for more than 20 years. The facility will be used for the company's electronics division, which supports reducing electronic waste by disassembling and recycling a wide variety of computer equipment, he said.

Four of Elgin Recycling's locations - in Arlington Heights, Elgin, Gilberts and Crystal Lake - also serve as buyback facilities for all types of metals and electronics. In previous years, Brown Commercial Group helped secure those locations for the firm.

Elgin Recycling was formed nearly 40 years ago and now employs more than 100 people in six locations Throughout Chicago's Northwest and West suburbs. Approximately 100 million pounds of materials were processed through its facilities last year, a nearly 20% increase over the past five years.
